Rick Gerardi lives in Saratoga County, in upstate New York with his wife Laura and dog Franny, in their circa 1836 home on the Hudson River. This is his first novel. His motivation for “If not us…” sprung from the many similarities he saw between the toxic nature of contemporary American politics and the equal, if not surpassed, enmity that existed between neighbors, friends and family during the Revolutionary period. It was really the nation’s first civil war: loyalists versus patriots. The process to bring the book to life and, hopefully relevance, required the due diligence necessary to get the science of psycho-hypnosis, past-life experience, and historical storytelling right. The joy of that journey has assured that Rick will continue writing.
Rick graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in History, spent a number of years promoting energy efficient building as a New York State official and then in the private sector. He and Laura currently spend their days hands-on improving homes to perform better for a cleaner planet, as they shuttle between New York and Florida.
